Discover How Your Self Esteem Is Effected By Motivation

By Jason Pearson | July 16, 2008

Motivation - it is a word that is used time and time again with anyone who is working for themselves.  Without it, you achieve nothing.  When you have a lot of it, you are able to achieve much.  If you think about it, when you have a day that you are really motivated to clean out the garage, wash the car, and fix that fence that has needed mended, you get it all done don’t you?  On the other hand, if you take the same day yet take away your motivation, there isn’t much chance you will get out of the chair to do those things.

In today’s society, it seems as if negativity is all around us.  The economy is bad, more and more cancer is spreading, gas prices keep going up, etc, etc…  When you want to stay motivated in anything, here are some things you need to do.  I urge you to copy this and keep for yourself to mull over and over again until it sinks in.

1.  If you have a dream, stay away from the people who think you will fail.  This is an obvious one to me.  People who think you will fail, or even want you to fail will only bring you down.

2.  Start believing that what you want to do is something you can do.  This is one of the kickers.  If you don’t really believe you can do it, you probably won’t.

3.  When trouble comes, don’t give up.  In every business, for example, there will be ups and downs.  Life isn’t full of doing everything right the first time.  Just learn from your mistakes.

4.  Are you happy?  If not, what makes you happy?  If you are not motivated to do something, maybe you are not happy.  Do something to bring your spirits up.  It will do wonders for your motivation.

5.  Keep a tight hold of your dreams.  You may have a big dream that is off way in the distance, but you must hang on to it if you want to achieve it.

6.  Make it happen.  Seems simple, right?  Well, motivation doesn’t come from sitting on the couch eating potato chips while watching television.  It comes from getting a start on what it is that needs to be done.

7.  Be realistic.  Sometimes things don’t go as planned.  You must admit to yourself that there will be bumps in the road and accept them.

8.  Write your goals down on paper.  It is proven that when you have a visual goal, it is more likely to be a goal you make.

When it seems that you don’t have a lot of motivation, it usually stems from low self esteem.  Start believing in yourself and what you can do.  It will work wonders for your goals.

As a self employed marketer, I must stay motivated to reach my goals.  Many of my goals have been reached, but there are more to accomplish yet.  If you want to know more about how you can achieve your business goals…
